Cycling Eurovelo #17 - The Rhone River Route.

(with apologies to all non-cyclists for the lack of genre content).

If you're not a cyclist or have absolutely no interest in cycle touring, then please accept my apologies. This piece is not for you. Yvonne and I cycled one of the long distance European cycle routes - Eurovelo #17 - in the summer, starting in Andermatt, Switzerland, near a glacier which is the source of the river Rhone, following the river west to Lake Geneva, onto Lyon, and then turning south through, Valence, Avignon, Arles and on down to teh Mediterranean. The full story of our 18 day, 1025km journey can be found on the Cycling UK website here.

The story contains little by way of horror, unless you count getting caught in two separate violent electrical storms, or the vagaries of Swiss train ticket inspectors. Hope you enjoy reading it.
